General Park Model Sales

The company, now in its 54th year of business began in Marlette, Michigan. General Coach acquired a company known as Clipper Coach Works in Hensall, Ontario in the fall of 1953. Parts of the original factory still remain to this day.

Our Recreational Vehicles are built with the finest materials by small town Canadian craftsmen who take pride in every product they make. We have been providing handcrafted Travel Trailers and Fifth Wheels for 54 Years and we have customers whom have enjoyed the comfort and quality of our products for a lifetime of travel.

In the early fifties Ontario was in the middle of an extremely robust market. The St. Lawrence Seaway was being built, Elliot Lake had just discovered uranium, Ontario Hydro was building numerous plants in the north, Stelco opened the Steep Rock Iron Ore facility, and paper mills were opening throughout the north. The Trans Canada Highway and the Alberta oil fields were also in high gear. The need for temporary housing in all parts of Canada gave the RV and mobile home manufactures a huge boost. Many new companies opened up facilities across the country.
